Manny's Marbles Critique

I started thinking about the round playful aspect of a marble. Thats how I decided on the soft-edged font that is thick. I molded it to a circle because it showed off the marble aspect. Next I thought of how a marble bounced so I added the motion aspect to my logo. I tried to make the Marble 3D by adding a gleam.

  1. I really like your logo, especially the one with the saying in the middle. You are the graphic design master.

  2. I love the one with the slogan in the middle, it mixes it up but still looks professional.

  3. I love your tagline in the second one! I like the 3D effect to make it look like a real marble!

  4. I like how circular the manny's marbles is like a marble. Maybe try doing more with the bouncing marble one by maybe making it the same kind of soft-edged font.

  6. I really like how the logo looks like a marble and I like the font you used. Your logo looks really good. I would chose the one with the words in the middle of it

  7. I'm liking the one with the words in the middle - but the bottom one is good also. The only thing about the bottom one is that it draws my eye to the right too much. Did you try putting the marble in some other location? Or maybe 2 marbles? Nice!

  11. All of these logos are really nice and put together. There isn't too much going on, but you still get the idea of what your company is. I really like the second one the "Haven't lost my marbles yet" is a really good touch. It also makes a good emblem rather than the last one, it looks more like a header for a desktop website.

Orthogonal Cube

In illustrator we made orthogonal cubes. We watched a tutorial on Lynda.com to figure out how to make all of the sides equal. We had to copy and paste the three main lines and copied them several times to finish off the cube. Then we added color to the cube to give it depth/perception. The darker colors make it look farther behind and the lighter shades make it come forward. Then i rounded the edges of the cube so that way it did not have weird tails that lost the flow of the eye making it look 3D.  This was a challenge for me because there was so many steps to do to make it look accurate. However the end result was with it, because it looked really awesome and it's cool to say that I made this from scratch.

The Interveiw

During this quarter of video I learned how to use Final Cut Pro and all the short cut keys that make is easier to use. Like command B is the blade tool and command I is import and command E is export. I also learned what the six shot system was and how to frame all of the six shots. The hardest ones to frame are the close up, extra closeup, and the over the shoulder shot.  I also learned how to work in a group and spread the work out evenly so that everyone has a fair amount of work so that everyone did a part so that the video got done by the due date. In the future I can use my group working skills in whatever strand I choose to go in because no matter what I do I will always have to work with people, and communicate my ideas and what I am envisioning in my head so that the people I am taking to can see what I am seeing.

Senior Project Final

I have finally finished my magazine. 1 front cover, 3 articles, 3 visuals, and 1 back cover. I did it. I am super proud of myself for all that I accomplished. I finally made something that represents not only my creativity, but also what I believe in. This project has also given me the confidence to know that I can start something from the sketches all the way to the final file, and have every single word and design come from me. I am so thankful that I trusted my gut and chose this as my final project. But most of all, I am glad that I learned that it is okay to use your experiences to influence your creative work.
