My Dream House

My Dream House

In our e-Communications class we have an animation segment. One of the projects we have is to make our own dream house in a program called Google SketchUp. The scope of the project was to learn how to use the program along with creating and bringing our own ideas to life. The processes began with creating a plan for our house so that we had something to base the shapes off of when we started to build it. Next we began to create the shapes for the house and pulling them up into 3D objects instead of 2D objects. After we finish building the base of the house we began to add details like textures to the sides of the house and windows, doors, and maybe some cars. My finished house are the pictures above.
During this project I learned how to use the program SketchUp and how to manipulate the shapes to make them look the way I want to look. I also learned how the different perspectives of  presentation can change the view of your house to a viewer. Next time I would make sure that all of my points that make up a shape are on the same plane so that they can move the same when I need them to. I would keep my procedure that I used because it made it very easy to add and change details. i will remember how the perspective I present my house van change hoe my viewers see my house. I really enjoyed this project because I love bringing my ideas to life in 3D models.

Senior Project Final

I have finally finished my magazine. 1 front cover, 3 articles, 3 visuals, and 1 back cover. I did it. I am super proud of myself for all that I accomplished. I finally made something that represents not only my creativity, but also what I believe in. This project has also given me the confidence to know that I can start something from the sketches all the way to the final file, and have every single word and design come from me. I am so thankful that I trusted my gut and chose this as my final project. But most of all, I am glad that I learned that it is okay to use your experiences to influence your creative work.

Orthogonal Cube

In illustrator we made orthogonal cubes. We watched a tutorial on Lynda.com to figure out how to make all of the sides equal. We had to copy and paste the three main lines and copied them several times to finish off the cube. Then we added color to the cube to give it depth/perception. The darker colors make it look farther behind and the lighter shades make it come forward. Then i rounded the edges of the cube so that way it did not have weird tails that lost the flow of the eye making it look 3D.  This was a challenge for me because there was so many steps to do to make it look accurate. However the end result was with it, because it looked really awesome and it's cool to say that I made this from scratch.

Photoshop Mask Video

In web we decided to explore the animation side of photoshop as an end of year experiment. The project was to use two photos, one that shows through the first when a mask layer is applied. Using the timeline feature you can create a timed sequence with type and a "peep hole" aspect with the mask. what pictures we used was up to us. I decided to do a picture of myself and the picture that would show through is a bunch of smaller pictures of things that are important to me.
